Objects are made of London's wild unfired clay. What was important to me in this project was to capture the moment between this clay being in the ground for millennia and when it will be the soil of Britain again.
I took the chance to work with it and express my idea. The idea is to contact the ghost of the place, to be able and willing to hear it. After the exhibition, objects will again become earth, I took nothing for myself except sensations and communication.

Below is a detailed description of how pieces were made and how they differ.
The object is the one on the wall.
Three pieces below show the stages of the wild London clay experiment.
I wanted to leave the pieces unfired, so I needed to invent a technology to make an object strong enough.
The first (left) object is made of clay itself, it couldn’t stay one piece. To strengthen the structure, I added wood fragments to the second one (in center). For the third object, I added a layer of clay mixed with sand. It was strong enough but couldn’t be placed on wall. For the final fourth one (hanging on the wall) I found palm coir, which I added between the layers of pure clay and clay with sand and wood. It turned out a piece that keeps its shape even unfired.
